On June 20, 2024, PPA together with Danareksa SOE Holding received a working visit from Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives led by Martin Manurung at the Batu Ampar Container Terminal (TPK), Batam Island, to garner parliamentary support for the development of this port for international transhipment. This visit was attended by 27 Commission VI members from the Indonesian House of Representatives, as well as leadership from Danareksa, PPA, and BP Batam. As the recipient of the Special Power of Attorney mandate from the Minister of SOE, PPA is committed to supporting investments for the development of the Batu Ampar TPK to realize the Government’s vision that has been planned for 30 years. The transformation of Batu Ampar TPK from a multi-purpose terminal to a container terminal is expected to create new economic value and strengthen Batam’s position as a major hub for world trade, while opening up more opportunities for economic growth in the region.
