PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk formed synergy with PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (Persero) (PT PPA) that is realized with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding Cooperation in Fulfilling the Need of Steel Product as well as other potential cooperation between PT Krakatau Steel and PT PPA. The signing is done virtually by the Commercial Director of PT Krakatau Steel, Melati Sarnita and Investment 1 Director of PT PPA, Rizwan Rizal Abidin.

The President Director of PT Krakatau Steel, Silmy Karim, stated that this cooperation is aimed to strengthen the manufacturing and infrastructure industry which inherently in need of steel product as well as its derivatives product in Indonesia, while comply to the principles of Good Corporate Governance.

“This cooperation would provide much bigger opportunities to State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in manufacturing industry through securing a sustainable fulfillment for the need of steel product, for the business’ own interest as well as the infrastructure projects that are run by The Government to accelerate the national economic recovery,” says Silmy.

Silmy added that Krakatau Steel is grateful to PT PPA for its role in the bridging between Krakatau Steel with the steel industry users. The partnership with PT PPA is also one of the enablers in developing steel business in Krakatau Steel that would help in the reinforcement process of national steel industry and in the acceleration of the national economic recovery.

In line with the statement, The President Director of PT PPA, Yadi Jaya Ruchandi stated that the synergy with Krakatau Steel is an important part of the joint effort to strengthen the SOEs ecosystem. We believe that there are the excellences from each company could create much bigger value and merit for the stakeholders, based on the core values of Mandate, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative (AKHLAK). Through this cooperation, PT PPA would be the center of procurement for the SOEs in the manufacturing industry under the cluster of Danareksa-PPA, so that it could give the supply access of raw materials for steel with best price and efficient process.

“PT PPA would be the center of procurement that guarantee the availability of raw materials of steel to the SOE in manufacturing industry. In the first instance, the volume of steel needed by SOEs in manufacturing industry under PT PPA reached up to 15,000 tons and in the upcoming years is expected to increase significantly,” says Yadi.
